American Classic Exteriors handles all of the major
siding manufacturers. Vinyl siding had replaced aluminum installations in the
majority of cases, even though every manufacture produces both products. In
recent years, manufacturers have increased the production of vinyl products
which now offer a wider variety of colors, textures and profiles than ever
before.
Choosing the
right vinyl product can become confusing, but American Classic can help you know
which product might be best for your home. Avoid what is often referred to as
the "builder's" panel. It is a thinner gauge product generally used in new
construction and does not have the rigidity of premium siding. Premium quality
siding is characterized by a thickness of .042 gauge or higher. All
manufacturers produce several lines of products that are usually distinguished
by the texture, gauge and color selection.
All companies
produce various profiles within each line of product. You can choose from 3",
4", 5" exposures, straight lap or Dutch lap. The choice of profile, color and
texture will not vary significantly in cost except for two factors. Most
manufacturers produce solid colors and blends. Blended siding utilizes multiple
colors in the finish of the siding panel to simulate a stained cedar or wood
appearance. Some manufacturers also offer very heavy gauge siding selections of
.050 or more. Blended products and heavy gauge siding will be slightly higher in
cost than solid color, premium selections.
Most companies
produce a wide variety of accessories to compliment their siding products. In
many cases, American Classic Exteriors will install accessories made by those
companies or other manufacturers depending on the final design of
the siding project.
