At American Classic Exteriors we utilize our extensive experience and

SIDING
- Prepare surface by removing existing
siding not conducive to accepting new siding. Nail down loose boards or remove
rotted material as needed.
- Remove all shutters, downspouts,
lighting fixtures, etc.
- Install wood furring, lath or Styrofoam
insulated underlayment sheets or vapor barrier over existing wall areas to
increase insulation value and provide smooth, flat surface for new siding.
- Build out starter strip or channel to
accept first course of siding and strike chalk line at base of wall to insure
level, horizontal application. Plumb all courses to insure vertical accuracy.
- Build out any window or door frames
with new wood trim to insure proper reveal with application of new siding when
required.
- Install "J" channels around all window
and door openings and other accessories. "Back-caulk" behind J-channel around
window and door openings to seal from air and water.
- Re-install all previously removed items
including mailboxes, light fixtures, address numbers, etc.

EXTERIOR TRIM
- Remove all storm windows and doors when
installing aluminum trim on window and doorframes to cover exterior moldings
and sills.
- Miter all channels, soffits, headers
and window and door trim to present proper finish.
- Use a thin bead of specified compatible
caulking around openings, sills, window and door corners where applicable.
Install solid soffit panels in all ceilings and cantilever overhangs.
- Pre-drill all fascia and related flat
work to help prevent rippling. Pop rivet all open seams or use color coated
nails on all corners and overlapping areas of trim, no staples to be used.
- Ventilate soffits every 8-10' on level
runs, cutting in new openings in wood overhangs where required and install
vented soffit panels.
- Cover and protect landscape areas
during installation and remove all excess materials and debris from site.
GUTTERS

Take down old gutters and downspouts and
remove from site.

Inspect all exterior wood
and replace if required, to be billed separately unless previously quoted.

Design number of downspouts required and
best locations for proper drainage.

Measure the exact
dimensions of gutters lengths required. Custom extrude new gutters using 0.032
heavy gauge, seamless aluminum material in colors as selected.

Pitch all gutters
approximately 1/2" per 40' of gutter run toward downspouts to provide proper
drainage and prevent standing water in gutters.

Install heavy gauge
flashing where required.

Install heavy gauge gutter
brackets secured to rafter ends using spiral shank nails every 24’’ or closer
where applicable.

All downspouts to be installed with 2
aluminum gutter straps per 12 feet.

All downspout joints to be
joined with rust-free aluminum, color coated screws.

All miters, drop outlets,
and end caps to be sealed with best quality synthetic rubber resin amorphous
silica sealant.

Premises to be cleaned and old gutters and
downspouts removed from site.
